We did it while I was on a reforger in Graf, mostly due to a smart a$$
(such as yourself, actually it was me) bringing up the same point you are
regarding the length of the casing.
Your forgetting that the round is pulled up snug to the firing pin by the
rim on the casing while seating it into the chamber!!! So the real
danger is the ball being bent and slamming into the barrel inside the
chamber and blowing the weapon up in your face!!! But you make
allowances in a bad situation.....Let's see would I rather take a chance
or let those 2,000 commies just stroll on over?
I'd take my chances in that situation when your out of ammo, otherwise
I'd use the standard issue if I had it. |
