I have a 2507 Router. When I type in the command >router isis, it will take
me to the next configuration area but the is not a NET command available to
set up isis. It appears that my IOS does not support isis. How can I be
certain that this is in fact the case.
Thanks... |

More likely than not your IOS doesn't support is-is. |
Some IOS will give you the output as you show above but when you
try and configure BGP it will output "unsupported protocol" if that
feature is not supported.
is-is wont give you an error output.
If you configure
router(config)# router isis test
router(config-router)#net ?
xx.xxxx. ... .xxx.xx Network entity title (NET)
you're in business. If not you need a different IOS.
Enterprise IOS will do is-is as will some of the specific provider (ISP)
IOS.
(they are reasonably small images fitting on to 8/4 flash and RAM, but
don't do much else than is-is eg c2500-p-l.120-5.T.bin)
If you have a CCO login you can use the IOS feature navigator to
find something appropriate but I guess as you're posting here you'd
have already looked there if you had a login.
Best bet is to see your local Cisco reseller.
Hope this helps.

You have to have the Enterprise version of IOS to run IS-IS

I had the same problem. I believe the IP-Plus version may have IS-IS also.
But if you doubt, why not get on the web www.cisco.com and find out.
