Can you point me to some of the online sites where I could get access to
some of the equipment?
Thanks,
Brian

It would be great to have some hands-on experience with the real deal,
but
you really don't need that much equipment to take your CCNA. Buy a good
study book (I used CCNA Studyguide by Sybex (ISBN: 0-7821-4167-6), a
simulator, and if you want to mess with a real Cisco router, then there
is
plenty online to mess with (most, for a small fee).
But in answer to your query, then this is the setup, most Academies use
to
train CCNA:
Three 2500 series router and one 1900 series switch. I don't know if
it's
still the same but that is what I used back last year.
Best regards.

I am considering purchasing some routers & switches (probably from
ebay)
to
help study for CCNA/CCNP. Can anyone tell me if the 1900 switch is a
good
switch to use as a CCNA study guide, or do I need a more advanced
switch
than that? I am not that familiar with Cisco switches and have heard
there
are menu type and IOS type switches; and that the difference for study
is
significant. Since I'm currently unemployed, finances are a definite
factor. Any help is appreciated.
thanks
