hi...

my laptop doesn't have any serial ports on it.
is it possible to use hyperterminal to connect to the console port of a
cisco router through the LAN port of the laptop to the console port of the
router. If so what is the procedure.

Nope, not possible. You'll need to get a USB to serial adapter such as this
one:

I usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt here, but do you
really think you can manage a network or device if you are asking a question
about connecting an ethernet connection to a serial connection?

thats why i asked the question.. because i dont know.
i'm not interested in managing a network.. i pay people to do that.

but then your such a smart ass that you feel the need to ridicule others,
will be watching all your questions and answers with interest to see just
how wonderful you are

The reason Hansang stated what he did was because you didn't exhaust all
resources before posting the question. Next time review Cisco documentation
prior to posting the question and I think he wouldn't "ridicule" you.
Obviously you didn't know this so I won't attack you but now you know.

Good Luck,

Brandon
