Hi all

I am having a problem getting a console connection to my Cisco 1900 Series
switch, it has got a 9 pin serial port as the console port. When trying to
connect to it via the com port with the normal setting this is all I am
getting

ATQ0Z00

Any ideas

Your terminal program is sending a modem initialization sequence. Look in
the program setting to suppress it.

You need a null modem cable or null modem adapter and I think it uses a
straight through cable with the adapter.

You are already using a null modem cable, but with the wrong wiring on the
handshake lines. When the switch boots, it can't detect a terminal, so it
assumes that it needs to intialize a modem.
