|
|
I am studying for CCNA. I don't have a Cisco router. I will sit for 640-801
by the end of the year. Does anyone have a recommendation for a software
router sim? I will actually purchase it instead of trying to steal it from
the net. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jim

You can get 2 2502 routers for the same price as a SIM. All you need are the
serial interfaces to practice. |

ebay has used 2501 and 2507 routers at a very reasonable rate but |
PLEASE be sure the passwords are removed and the boot roms are not set
for net booting. Also, check the IOS version before you buy. If is is
below 11.0, I personally would not buy one because the commands are
somewhat different for the older ios versions than the ones you have
been studying in Cisco class. I know all this from hard learned
personal experience. I am not a seller on ebay so I am not trying to
drum up business; just passing on advise is all. Good luck. |
