Hello,

I picked up a generic Smart Keyboard over the weekend. When i try and push
any of the buttons"email, www.....ect" they are bringing up different
programs "email brings up calculator..." so i thought that i would add the
drivers that came along with it, installed the drivers and restarted the
computer and the system crashed. Thankfully i went into safe mode and
removed the drivers and it is booting up fine.

Here is the error message that came with the crash

"PCLASYS caused a general protection fault in module
KRNL386.EXE at 0003:00003jd2 516153900042011"

I understand KRNL386, and that the 0003:00003......ect is the memory address
but what i dont understand is why or what kinda problem did it run into.
Compadibility maybe? Oh and my OS is WinME

Thanks for any help guys

Muppet Edition was terrible for compatibility. Race off to the
keyboard manufacturers site and see if they have ME drivers. If not
try Google looking for issues with that keyboard.

i hate muppet ed

and i love my £3 dell keyboard smile

Actually, although the problem could be compatability, and ME did suck, the
only good thing ME did have was extended hardware compatability, better than
win98 or win2k.

Did your keyboard come with extra software? Mine has an icon that sits in
the tool tray. There should be options to setup what programs are
associated with the buttons. I can make the email button open whichever
program I want it to.

good luck!
