Can someone please help me I am running win98 se IE 5, since Saturday when I
click on my outlook express icon it takes about 4 minute to load up (I am on
broadband) and when It does it takes a further 5 minute per email to read. I
have tried the following to no avail I have install tweak ul on my control
panel and tried repairing the file from there. I have deleted my identities
in the registry added one back at a time and checking them to see if they
are corrupt still no good.I am assuming it is a msimn error as when I
control alt it comes up that msimn is not responding. I can track back to my
last software installation and it was a spam killer that didn't work, so
that was the last thing I uninstalled. Could it have something to do with
that.
Thanks in advance

| msimn is MSN Messenger. Have you uninstalled or disabled that program? |

No, its not. Msimn.exe is the Outlook Express executable.

*** ... my bad. True enough though - msimn.exe is Outlook Express -
messenger is msmsgs.exe. I really should stop multitasking ... lol. JK -
you would be more helpful if instead of just correcting my error you had
some constructive input.
Toony - use task manager to see if msmsgs is not responding. As it is
usually linked to OE it can cause long waits if it is hanging, and from past
experiences some of those spam killers do interfere with it. I think
perhaps that as messenger is like a parasite to Outlook Express then it is
not good. Try a reinstall of OE and see if that clears the problem. |
