|

Hi all,
just how difficult are the A+ exams?
Practice exams are one thing but what should I be using as a bench mark
before booking the real thing? Just my results from these tests alone? I
also find that when I'm reading about a subject that I'm already fairly
clued up on I end up skipping paragraphs/pages. Is this just foolish as I
could be missing a gem that'll be needed in the exam or should I be ok?
Don't get me wrong I don't just want to pass an exam. What's the point have
a piece of paper saying that you can do XYZ when in practice you can't? but
I've already got a pretty good knowledge of/with computers etc.
Any advice/comments appreciated.

It all depends... what kind of knowledge/expierience do you have with PC's?
I'm a network admin, and have been in IT for about 5 years and I never took
any tests until I recently passed the A+. I found it pretty easy. I used the
Mike Myers Passport book, and found it to be just right. It focused me on
what I needed to know for the test and I learned a few things. The practice
exam that came with it I felt was actually more difficult than the test.
Depending on what book you are using I don't recommend skipping pages
because you never know.
