|
|
Charles Brooks' A+ book contradicts itself when describing the
sequence of operations in the POST. The sequence described in the text
doesn't match the sequence described in the diagrams, and what's more,
they both contradict my own experience in seeing the video card info
display before the system RAM is counted.
Can someone point me to information online that describes the sequence
of operations, from the reset signal being sent to the CPU, up through
the end of the POST?
I'll just assume the info I have on the OS bootups is correct, even
though it likely isn't, with all the other errors in this book. :)

Try doing a google search. I've been studying for the A+. Here is a site
that has a practice test on POST codes.
http://www.thestaffguide.com/CoreWebTests/Post_Error_Codes/THESTAFFGUIDE.CO
M%20-%20POST_Error_Codes_Test.htm
Can anyone tell me if these questions and answers are any good? |
