I have a learning disablity and have been asked to complete the A+ course.

I've been on the job about a month now with on the job training. Prior to
this, no experience as a computer tech.

With my disabilty, I find it hard to read and keep my attention on books
with useless minute details.

I'm looking for a "Coles Notes" or condensed book that just covers what I
need to know to pass the A+ certification. Preferably, I need a book to
cover the new exam in Nov 2003 as it will take me a while to get through the
book.

Thank you.

I would suggest searching on the web for "comptia a plus study guides"
"study notes" and "practice tests". Also if you want it even easier ;-)
go to www.readplease.com and download their software. It can read web
pages for you. Get as much hands-on practice as possible. Go to your public
library and ask your librarian to reserve as many A+ books as you can.
Look at them all and try to pick up things little by little. Take online
practice tests at www.freepractice.com and www.freecomptia.com If you
don't know the answer to a question, look it up and find the answer. It
will sink in better that way.

Good Luck.

I would suggest that if you have trouble reading and concentrating when
learning from a book that you perhaps try something like CBT Nuggets or the
Learnkey CBTs and just get something like the Mike Meyers Passport series
book for cross reference.
Those useless minute details are the things that aid you to solve problems
you have not come across before. With Comptia ditching their adaptive exam
you will probably have a lot more questions with those minute details in the
exam pool.

Also visit www.techexams.net for some great study notes and practice tests.
