When in DOS, after the DOS prompt, I type in EDIT which takes me to the blue
screen. However, when I start typing nothing appears, just the cursor
moving across the screen. This is wrong as I discovered last night when
using the EDIT function on another computer.

So how do I fix it?

Definitely weird. Maybe your text color is the same as the background
color? Try this - click 'Options' then 'Colors' then 'Default' then OK.
Good luck.
