A-Plus teaching tips

I was asked to teach the 2 topics to a group of 6 teenagers (college level)
I have no teaching experience however
6 years years experience in pc repairs
also started my microsoft trek
I plan to use the mike meyers all in one a+ to accomplish this task
any tips , advice would be appreciated

Your course "syllabus" is basically the exam objectives from the CompTIA
website. For most points, you want to provide some form of assessment, such
as a multiple choice quiz, research assignment, basic recollection tasks (ie
what is this connector, and what is its use), and a practical task based
around it - a mixture would be ideal.

Then, map all this into some form of calendar so you can decide what is
happening each week - the calendar only need be simple, ie. week number,
week commencing or exact date, activity(s), and any special resources you
might require so that you can plan ahead. Technically it's called a scheme
of work.

There are a few sites on the Net, made by A+ tutors at
colleges/universities - might be worth your while investigating their
resources, for the purpose of seeing how they are presenting their
programme.

Finally, in terms of books, I would recommend you generate a one-page
document, called "Indicative Reading" - basically a selection of 3-5 books,
including ISBN but also including a comment about what you think of the
book, what its good for etc. I've found most students will go out and buy
the book based on your recommendation, which works well and removes any
ethical issues.
