Can anyone suggest or point me to a good resource or explanation of
conventional memory, expanded memory, extended memory, and how hi-memory was
achieved using segment:offset memory addressing. I've read several
different articles about these concepts and I get a general idea. But, I
guess it still hasn't sunk in my brain because it still isn't completely
clear to me. I thought someone might know a good resource that explains the
information so a three year-old can grasp it and cause the light bulb to
turn on for me:) Anyway, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Which articles have you already read? A Google search may help you
find something, and check A+ resources such as books by Mike Meyers,
Scott Mueller, etc.
