I like to install Linux to my computer, but want to be sure it does not damage the current window XP os - it is too impotant to me since all my files are there.

Is that a thing can be done?

Hi all,
i would like to add that you should make sure that your pc have the space for that ..cause to have linux beside your os your Pc would need to have at lest 5 GB partition for Linux and 5 GB partition for swap, so that is 10 GB in total....
cheers
