I like to install Linux to my computer, but want to be sure it does not damage the current window XP os - it is too impotant to me since all my files are there.
Is that a thing can be done?

yes u can install linux with with windows on the same pc but on the diff partition. suppose ur window os on 'c' drive , then u would install linux on the other drive it may b 'd' or 'e' etc. it formate it before installing so be sure u got the backup of ur files.
it works definitly without damaging ur files. |

Hi all,
i would like to add that you should make sure that your pc have the space for that ..cause to have linux beside your os your Pc would need to have at lest 5 GB partition for Linux and 5 GB partition for swap, so that is 10 GB in total....
