|
|
Hello,
can I create an Image for a RIS-Server from any bootable CD-ROM or only
from Windows CD's?
I do not have RIS installed, however, I am thinking about creating an
Image of CD's like the bootable CD's of Powerquest Drive Image or
Acronis True Image. I would need these Images esp. for a Dell PV745 NAS
which does not have a CD-Rom-drive installed. So, I'd like to use PXE
boot for this but I do not know if this will work with "any" bootable
CD (Drive Image is DR-Dos, Acronis is Linux).
regards

Hello again,
in the meantime I found, that the latest version of Acronis True Image
Workstation 9.1 provides an emergency RIS-bootimage for a RIS-server. I
could test the functionality with the 15-days trial version of the
software and it worked.
Still, I would like to know how I can build a RIS-image of _any_
bootable CD. (I have a Win2k RIS-Server, installed a Win2k (Pro) image.
When I tried to add a WinXP-Image the assistant tried to overwrite the
Win2k-Image instead of creating a new one. So, I am wondering how
Acronis could add the linux image...).
