I'm setting up a new Win2003 server to replace an existing server that shares
most of our files. I'd like to sync those files onto the new server without
having to do a backup and restore. Is DFS the best way to do this? |

If you need to sync the files only one or two times just for replaceing the
server settitng DFS will be more that you need.
Use ROBOCOPY (Part of Windows server recoure kit
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9d467a69-57ff-4ae7-96ee-b18c4790cffd&DisplayLang=en)
It can copy NTFS permissions too.

Guy,
Thanks for the info. Looks like I need the /MIR option for this.
