I am moving a peer to peer network with all workstations running Windows XP
Professional to a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. I would like to
maintain the users desktops and then create roaming profiles for the users.
Is there a procedure or white paper that is available to help me?

Be careful with roaming profiles. You'd want to watch out for file size and
bandwidth. For example, if a user has documents directly on her Windows
desktop (instead of shortcuts), then they will be part of her profile. So if
she logs onto another computer at a remote office for the first time, it
could take awhile for her profile to copy down. There are settings to cache
profiles and such, but that's only if she's logged onto the PC before.

Search the Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 help system for "roaming
profile" and it should give you a good starting point.

Regards,
Martin
