Hi,

I can't find a place that seems to fit this question so here I am at the
General Discussion forum.

About a month ago, thanks to a wonderfully wise person on this site, I was
able to transfer all the FSMO roles over to our new W2K3 server from our old
W2K server. Things have been running quite smoothly but I do have a couple
of events showing up in the new server's Event Viewer that I can't figure out
how to straighten out.

One is an Event ID 53258 saying
"MS DTC could not correctly processs a DC Promotion/Demotion event. MS DTC
will continue to function and will use the existing settings. Error
Specifics: d:\nt\com\complus\dtc\adme\uiname.cpp:9280, Pid: 1348.
No Callstack,
CmdLine: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdtc.exe".

The information link says it has no further information on this problem. Is
this a service (Distributed Transaction Coordinator) that was enabled when I
had the new server functioning as a secondary DC when I transferred the AD to
it? Can I simply disable it?

The second problem is with the Licensing Service. It is still trying to
contact the first PDC in order to replicate the information from it. I'm
getting Event ID 213. Since the old DC is now offline, but not wiped off, how
do I go about setting this new server as the primary source for licenses?
I've tried to access the license service directly through its GUI but it
won't take anything I try to give it.

Thanks in advance to anyone out there.
Dana
