"Best" is subjective. I did the Que training guide for 70-305 (VB, written
by Mike Gunderloy) and was very successful. I had done web applications
before (with PHP, Perl, MySQL) but this was my first exposure to .NET and SQL
Server. (I had some exposre to VB and also Visual C++, but that was many
years ago.)
I also have the 70-315 Que training guide (C#, by Amit Kalani), and its
structure and coverage are virtually identical to the VB book. Either one
will serve you very well.
Whatever book you choose, do ***all*** of the exercises. Even if the code is
right there in the example, type it in by hand and make it run. Solve the
practice problems before looking at the answers, and invest time in expanding
on the solutions. There's no substitute for having your fingers in the code;
that's where you learn. |

If you're talkin about MCSD Exam's point of view then Que training guide for
70-305 (VB, written
by Mike Gunderloy) is very good.
But in general 70-305 or C# equivalent doesnt cover that much. You should
look for Wrox's professional series or some other for advanced topics.
