I understand and feel the same way some times. My attitude, though, is
that it's a revenue opportunity for me when their system goes down
because they didn't do what they should have done.

With XP, though, updating is built into the OS, so it shouldn't be as
much of a problem in the future.

What you have among end users is this attitude, "Well, I just want to
surf the internet and check e-mail." They don't think this is important.
It's too "technical" and doesn't apply to them. You can stress it over
and over, and they still won't get it. They will, though, when their
e-mail doesn't work and their files are all corrupted, and they are
cutting a nice check to you.

They had to have the system reformatted... When they got the computer
back I told them to do ALL of the critical updates before they cruise
the Internet... they're response was this "I don't know how to do it"....

Forget it! I am done with people that don't want to bother doing these
things... it's in they're hands now, not mine!

Sorry for the rant :-)

beating up the relatives would be the ultimate experience! (just kidding, ya

Yippee! Here I go again! I am NOT very happy about this! Shoot me NOW! Yes, it happened again.... After I removed the blaster worm, not even a week later they were hit with two more worms. They said that one is the Welchia and they don't know what the other is.... Hell, I couldn't have stressed I don't know how many times to get the MS critical updates ASAP before doing anything else online and afterwards getting the NAV virus file definitions ASAP too! Yes, as it seems, I was talking to the *** wall! The first thing I asked them was did they do ANY of the updates.... they're answer was No. I know some of you will say "cha-ching", but not for me, no siree! This is my out-laws again! So no money in the bank for me.... Okay, enough ranting for one day :-) besides I have a question...

They have NAV 2002 and cannot update the virus file definitions.... never could... should I just blow the whole thing away and download something else for them? I have AVG and it seems to work wonderful and I have had no problems whatsoever with AVG, so I was thinking of getting this for them instead. Any feedback would be appreciated...

Kathy, please use word wrap when posting as I get tired of scrolling
left to right. Maybe the reason they could not update NAV is because
there subscription ran out?

Good Luck,

I hope there very generous around the holidays!

Hey Kathy

Sure do, but for some reason a bit of mail wasn't getting through, but usually bounced. It was acting kind of like the account was full when there was nothing there but a few addresses. Try again Kathy :-)
