assuming you really only have 2 DCs and both have journal wrap
do a D4 on the DC that has the PDC emulator role (NETDOM QUERY FSMO to find
out which DC it is)
do a D2 on the other DC
first stop NTFRS service on both DCs --> NET STOP NTFRS
implement D4 on the PDC emulator
start NTFRS on the PDC emulator --> NET START NTFRS
Go into the event viewer FRS log and look at the messages and wait until it
says the SYSVOL is shared and available
when that is shown:
implement D2 on the other DC
start NTFRS on the other DC --> NET START NTFRS
Go into the event viewer FRS log and look at the messages and wait until it
says the SYSVOL is shared and available
this should do it

| Quote: | Hello,
A Windows 2000 domain all servers W2K Advanced server SP4.
Two DC's.
In the past I have used the BurFlags registry key to reinitialize File
Replication Service replica sets with a nonauthoritative restore on a DC
in a
journal wrap.
I have just found now that both of the DC's in the domain are in a journal
wrap and I am not sure what to do.
Should I just pick one and do an authoritative restore with the BurFlags
registry key and then do a nonauthoritative restore on the other?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe |
