I'm trying to fix this issue.. and decided to seek help inthis NGroup.
I added first Windows 2003 DC R2(hub-dcr2) in my forest root domain(all is
done forest prep/domain prep).
The hub-dcr2 went thru successful promotion and replicated across to my
other Windows 2000 DC.
As a test:
I went to one of my Windows 2000 DC and created a test ou, trigger urgent
replication and it appears to my new hub-dcr2. I did same from hub-dcr2
created a test OU and it replicated to other DCs. Perfect!
Here is what I found out:
I login to the new hub-dcr2 and went to DS Sites and Services, scroll to
the NTDS settings for the hub-dcr2 and there is no child objects
connections. I did hit "Check replication topology".. It gives me an error
Folowing Error occured Attempting to check replciation topolog: A Database
error has occured! there is also an error in event log. like "KCC failed to
update the replication topology for local domain contoller. it will try again
in the nect sched 900sec /15 minutes..user action restart Dc"
What I did so far
-Restart the DC same problem
-demote the DC, let it replicate for some time repromote..same issue
- I tried manual connection objects there is an error.so I deleted and check
replication topology again same....
Good thing is this DC is acting as DC and recieving updates vice verssa..
but what is the problemmmmmm?? i dont want tp ignore and go ahead with rest
of creating/upgrading DCs.. I want to fix it.. since there should
automatically created connections objects etc..
please advise.. |
