Can Windows 2003 Server function with Work Groups instead of Domains?
and
Does Windows 2003 require Active Directory?
If this the wrong group to post these questions, can you direct me to the
correct group?
Thanks, Tracey
Currently a small network (few dozen computers) is set up as Work Groups (a
carry-over from the days of Windows 3.1) and this works fine for Windows
2000 Server.
I suggested that the company upgrade the Windows 2000 Server to Windows 2003
Server to keep getting security updates (product end of life is June 2006),
but I am being told that Windows 2003 Server requires a Domain Configuration
and Active Directory. |

No. You can still maintain your workgroup.
