For anyone curious what the MCSD.Net -> MCPD: Enterprise via the 70-553 and
70-554 exams does to your transcript, my online transcript now is current
and reflects:
MCPD: Enterprise
MCTS: Web, Enterprise, WinForms,
MCSD.Net
I'm a bit disappointed that I don't get the MCPD Web and MCPD Windows
certification as part of the upgrade from the MCSD.Net. The MCTS
certifications are certainly nice, but the MCPD certs seem as if they would
be a better fit.
Ah well - now I need to decide if getting the MCPD Web & WinForms certs has
any value.
I can just picture some recruiter, who won't know what the acronyms stand
for, much less how the certifications build on each other or relate to other
certifications, much less understand the relationship between the
technologies, saying:
Recruiter: "Our client requires the .Net 2.0 MCPD web certification, and you
don't have that.".
Me: "But the MCPD: Enterprise includes ASP.Net certifications along with
it."
Recruiter: "Our client wants the MCPD: Web, and you don't have that.".
Me: "Really, the MCPD: Enterprise means I can do both Web and Windows - it's
a superset of the other two."
Recruiter: "Our client wants the MCPD: Web, and you don't have that.".
Me: "Do you understand how the certs work? I can't get the MCPD: Enterprise
without passing a bunch of Web Exams. And look here, I have the MCTS: Web
Application certifications as well."
Recruiter: "Did you hear me you stupid contractor?! Our client wants the
MCPD: Web, and I'm not going to present your resume to them becure you're a
pompus ass who doesn't even have the right certifications. Stop wasting my
time. I've got an H1B resume who just passed the MCPD: Web, and I'm going to
present him instead."
Me: "I command you, turn into a Weasel!"
Recruiter: "Squeak! Squeak!"

If you search through this group for threads I posted in, you'll find me
talking about the various materials I used to prepare for the tests.
In short:
70-553, No prep. Took it cold.
70-554, Used the MCTS:Distributed test material as prep. Bought an online
test from one of the testing companies and took that a bunch of time. It
was, at best, ok.

hi,
i seen you transcript and really interesting and i also gone through
your talk with requiter about the 2.0 web certification and it really
hearts. i also want to do the mcpd but there is no resource available
like for 1.1 exams. no sample questions and no dumps. as you gone
through that you may have some prep. documents. please send those
documents me for same. thanx in advance.. :)

That's a good thing, so that cheaters cannot devalue the MCPD certs.
(at the moment, anyhow)

No doubt. I always forget though, that even when there's nothing at all
subtle about sarcasm, many non-native english speakers won't pick up on it.
You should see some of the stuff that's been emailed to me, asking for the
same thing. I used to respond back with, "Nope. Go pay Transcender or
MeasureUp.", but I stopped doing that due to downright absusive responses I
used to get.

Abusive ? I don't see why they would be abusive towards you, when they
were requesting you for something in the first place. Maybe you scared

I failed 70-554 (that beta test was very hard!), so I'll need to retake
that. Interestingly, I haven't gotten an email yet from either Pierson's Vue
