Feedback is impossible if no one can understand your question. Next
time, please spend a precious minute formulating your question, so it
doesn't sound like unintelligible gibberish.

My first thought was "Please let exZam be a typo!"

Here are two great suggestions:

Thank you for those great links, BD... He may or may not find them
useful, but I do find them very interesting reading. (Note: I'm not
insinuating that I need training in the art of asking questions in
forums, but still it's interesting to read ! ;-) )

This is the part I think is highly relevant to those who think we're
rude :
Quote------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RTFM and STFW: How To Tell You've Seriously Screwed Up
There is an ancient and hallowed tradition: if you get a reply that
reads "RTFM", the person who sent it thinks you should have Read
The FuŠk!ng Manual. He or she is almost certainly right. Go read it.

RTFM has a younger relative. If you get a reply that reads "STFW",
the person who sent it thinks you should have Searched The FuŠk!ng
Web. He or she is almost certainly right. Go search it. (The milder
version of this is when you are told "Google is your friend!")

In Web forums, you may also be told to search the forum archives. In
fact, someone may even be so kind as to provide a pointer to the
previous thread where this problem was solved. But do not rely on this
consideration; do your archive-searching before asking.

Often, the person telling you to do a search has the manual or the web
page with the information you need open, and is looking at it as he or
she types. These replies mean that he thinks (a) the information you
need is easy to find, and (b) you will learn more if you seek out the
information than if you have it spoon-fed to you.

<Edit : Especially this part :>
You shouldn't be offended by this; by hacker standards, your respondent
is showing you a rough kind of respect simply by not ignoring you. You
should instead be thankful for this grandmotherly kindness.

Great reply C, it is a very informational piece of work. The guy(s) who wrote
it obviously know their sh!t and they have actually taken the time to spell it
out for the n00bs. It would be nice to actually have this as a "sticky" at the
top of the posts so everyone can read it.

Indeed, BD !! Thankfully, netiquette came naturally to me, but it was
really great to see it in writing. Before I came across these
newsgroups, I was looking for a community online and browsed many
sites. Most forums on those sites do have the "Sticky" feature with
similar but much more stern instructions ! But I wonder that even if
such a feature were implemented here, how many would actually read it ?
You can never trust these dumba$$es, even if it's right in front of
their eyes.

BTW, do you know any similar guide that details "How to answer dumb
questions" or "How to nuke lazy slobs on the usenet" ? ;-) I mean who
would know better than an MCNGP, about this !

Didn't want to drag this thread too long, but I couldn't resist posting
a link to this hilarious guide to the Usenet netiquette by "Miss Emily
Postnews" : <http://www.templetons.com/brad/emily.html>. This one had
me in splits !

Assuming you haven't read this already, check out a sample question :
-----------------------------------
Q: What does foobar stand for?
A: It stands for you, dear.
-----------------------------------

Regards,

Cerebrus.

I learned from Experience, so I really hadn't thought about anything like that.

There is the Google Guide, although it isn't sarcastic, it does spell out how to
use Google. They even offer Novice and Experienced User paths of learning. I
think it's kinda funny....who the h3ll could be dumb enough to warrant the
creation of a Google Guide?

LMAO...great material...I'm afraid with that, too many idiots would take those

instructions seriously. As a Footnote she writes: "Footnote: Some of you may
recognize the pun here, but....". Well, I say...the people that don't see the
pun, didn't make it to the footnote.
