A friend has referred me to a job position that requires A+ but I
havent recerted, I got mine back in 2001.
He is telling me to sit the current test(s) blind but he has never been
A+ certed before.
Is there a whole lot of difference in 5 years since? Should I skim
over some books, or are there any online practice tests that can give
me an idea of how much I have retained? |

I did not know this, I thought that A+ expired after 3 years.
I need to check for confirmation, as if this is the case, I am golden.

It's significantly different, but so what? THERE IS NO RECERTIFICATION
for A+. Once certified, you are FULLY certified FOR LIFE, at least as
things stand today.

A simple visit to comptia.org would have answered your question since
you don't trust Barry for some reason. |

Well, considering that I dont know who Barry is and that I was in the
process of hitting the CompTIA site, and that other certs do have
expirations I wasn't doubting to be rude or anything.

That's Cisco's CCNA, it expires after 3 years unless you recert or move
up to a more advanced certification.

As Barry mentioned, A+ is a lifetime certification, just like all the
CompTIA "Plus" certifications (A+, Network+, Server+, etc...)
The CompTIA website would be the first place to start.

Q. I am already CompTIA A+ certified, what happens to my certification?
A. You will retain your CompTIA A+ certified status.
As long as you've saved your A+ certification certificate, there's all
the proof you need.

No offense taken to the doubts (I know that you are not the OP).

The A+ Certifications can be looked up online on the CompTIA web site
(so much for forging a certificate). However, you can buy a replacement
(or duplicate) certificate for a reasonable fee (I think it's $15 or $25).
