Hi -

Hoping someone can help explain why both 'Client for Microsoft Networks' and
'File and Printer Sharing for.....' are both automatically disabled on a
Laptop that I
am setting up right now.

If the relevant checkboxes are selected and OK button pressed then the
message:
'Your current selection will also disable the following components.... etc.'
is presented
and the 2 checkboxes are unchecked.

I have tried this by selecting both a wireless network connection and a
local area network connection with the same warning and the same automatic
disablement.

Whilst it is not essential, in this case, to have these facilities enabled I
would like to understand
what is going on as this is a new Windows warning to me.

Any help appreciated.
Machine is running Windows XP Home SP1. Build 2600.
Currently connecting for updates...

Best Regards to all
Tony
