For lack of a Linux+ group, has anyone taken the Linux+ exam?
Was it difficult?
I've been using Linux for about 9 years, but only to maintain a web
server and occasionally to load and run different web services, such
as shopping carts, CGI & Perl scripts, etc.
I have a Linux box sitting here and I have been running through all of
the commands to get a feel of what they do. I find it very similar to
DOS, as it is mostly command line. I started with DOS, back in the
DOS days, so I am comfortable with the command line.
I find it somewhat simple and because of this I'm afraid I'm missing
something.
I take the exam in 8 days. |

Dude the Linux + exam was one of the easiest exams I had ever faced.
Well as I being a corporate could hardly devote much time on studying.
Some hours of study at weekends. Had I done regular study I could have
scored better. The Michael Jang book helped me a lot to solve some of
the difficult topics. Fortunately I had some good hours of simulations
and also solved practice questions. I downloaded ucertify simulations
and 2 of the questions seemed too similar to the ones I practiced. One
was on MKINITRD command and the second one was on BIND. I feel luck and
hard work, both are necessary to pass an exam. |

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I will pass and then move onto the
MCSA exams.

I am sad to say, I did not pass the Linux+ exam. Needed 675 to pass,
I got 610. There were questions on the exam that were not covered in
the training CD I purchased. I left the building dizzy and went
straight the bar to have a few!
I think I will try it again in a few weeks, since I now know what kind
of questions are on the exam.
