Today I completed a migration for a customer of mine from one SBS2003
server
to a new SBS2003 server. I needed to move their companyweb sharepoint
services site from the old server to the new server.
I was able to move the site to the new server based off of a MS
knowledgebase article I found but it did not put the site at the root of
the
website. In order to access the site I have to enter the following URT
http://companyweb/newcompanyweb.
When I do this, the site works perfectly. I can access all the files and
links with no problem. I have tried changing the Home Directory of the
Companyweb in IIS but that didn't do anything.
I have searched high and low in the Sharepoint services Administrator for
a
way to modify where the http://companyweb comes from but havent found it.

It's a CNAME in your DNS ...check out your forward lookup zone. It should
point to servername.domain.local (the internal FQDN of your SBS box). Don't
know if that's the sole thing you need to look at, tho.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
