|
|
Hello,
Does anyone know of a source where these are available? Especially the
one/s that will read Dell laptop hard drives. It pisses me off that the
Geek Squad can manage to find them but I can't.
Thanks in advance,

Is this something close to what you are looking for (or something a
little cheaper):

I use one like this at work. I have had pretty good luck with it. One
side is for 2.5" drives and the other is for 3.5" drives. At the risk
of pointing out the obvious, the power adapter is not required for
laptop drives, and you have to remove the drive adapter to expose the
pins on the drive.

First of all, Dell drives are the same as anyone else's drives.
Second, it's not clear what you want.
To connect a hard drive to a computer using USB, get one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150154823261
To connect a laptop IDE drive to a desktop IDE port, get one of these:

To connect a laptop SATA Drive to a desktop SATA port, no adapter is
neede; desktop (3.5") and laptop (2.5") SATA drives have the same
connectors.

CompUSA us to sell kits to take the bare drive and put it into an
interface box with USB out put. About $30. |
