|

Hi all,
In the domain password policies there is the password complexity
requirements option that when turned ON requires a min password length
of 6. But also there is the option for min password length policy. If
min password len is 10 then what would be the effective min password
length for the user? Is it 6 (due to complexity requirements) or 10
(due to min password length)?
Also, I'm assuming that if the min password length is less than 6 then
the effective min would be 6 characters due to complexity requirements
being ON.
Thanks! |

I played a bit with a test DC. The minimum password length trumps the
complexity requirements. If min password length is set to 8, then you need
8 characters. If you set min password length to 4 then, you only need 4
characters - as long as you meet the other complexity requirements.
