I have 2 DCs for my abc.xyz.com domain. I have been told that we must demote
our DCs and make them children in our corporate domain xyz.com. Can someone
give me what steps i need to take to get this done? I know it's a fairly
complex process but any help would be great.
Here is what I have gathered:
Each server must be done individually, so that FSMO roles are transferred.
So the first DC would have all FSMO roles transferred then dcpromo can be
run and the DC then can be made a child of the new forest.
Then FSMO roles are reassigned to the newly demoted DC.
The second server can then have it's FSMO roles removed and demoted and
joined.
I know it's a simplified process, but am I close?

Hello,

you should use ADMT:
Active Directory Migration Tool v3.0
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6f86937b-533a-466d-a8e8-aff85ad3d212&displaylang=en

DC are important, but workstations and users account too ;)
