We have a number of remote sites that have DC's configured as file servers.
If we pull the DC role out and leave the servers just to act as WSUS and
file servers, will the file shares and permissions remain untouched? I am
guessing so since the services are independent of each other and the server
remains a member of the domain?

I am correct here? I dont have the time nor the resources available to me to
test this in a lab environment.

Thanks
