I have a server appliance which for customer access does not need anything
more than the self signed and generated Certificate. The problem is, these
last only a year. I really would rather them not see the expired certificate
warning. So, I have a two part question in reference to this.

1. Is there a way to change the default expiration to something greater than
a year?

2. Outside of having the customer log on to the box and delete the
certificates in IIS and through MMC and subsequently rebooting to regenerate
the certificates, is there a way to make the appliance renew the certificates
automatically?

Thanks!
