i have a windows 2003 sp2 server dc. I added another server(server 2003 R2
SP2) to the domain and made it a domain controller.

I wish to demote the present server but i get " the box indicating that this
domain contoller is the last controller for the domain is unchecked. However
no other active directory controllers for the doman can be contacted."

I am able to replicate and ping the other server. I do have the dns servers
set for itself and the other server but it still cannot find it.

i did do the r2 tools, adprep, forest prep, and grpp(?).

What do i need to do to be able to see the other domain controller? I have
transfered all the FSMOs to the new DC after no success with them on hte old
dc but still no change.

I do have an Event id 1126 Active Directory was unable to establish a
connection with the global catalog but I can connect to the dc.

Is there and issue with AD?
