| Q: When you include MCP on your resume, do most of you just put Microsoft Certified Professional ... or do you also include the tests that you have passed so far? |
| A: On mine I put the exams that I have done as well. I've got MCSA. Almost got MCSE. When I finish I think I'll leave out the core exams and just list the design and elective exams I chose to take. David Lee I think most will put mcp and how many exams they have done. And when they get to MCSE they mention which electives they have (like Exchange, SQL but not 218) to show they know more than just Win2k. 70-228 This is what I put: ------------------ Certifications CCA Citrix Certified Associate Microsoft exams completed: NT4 Workstation, NT4 Server, NT4 Enterprise, Networking Essentials, TCP/IP, IIS4, SQL7 Admin, SQL7 Design, Proxy Server 2, Exchange Server 5.5, IEAK5, Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam, Designing Windows 2000 Directory Services, Managing a Windows 2000 Network Environment etc.. ----------------- I list the exams done because it tells the employer that ive got a bit of Exchange, proxy etc knowledge. The reason I put MCP and MCP+I is that often the content of the resume is placed in a database. The database is used to search for people with MCP's etc. I also spell out what the cert is because many employers don't know what the heck those abreviations mean. Sometimes I include my MOUS cert. I know its a crap cert but it depends what contract job you get. bobwonky source: alt.certification.mcse << Previous ^ Up Next >> |
