| Q: A friend of mine is embarking on their MCSE. What do you people think would be the best exam to take nowadays, the 2KPRO or XP exams ? I would have thought that there are more PRO boxes out in the field but do you think a XP cert would be better? |
| A: I would say Win2K is the better route as most large companies are only now finalizing their rollouts of the platform and the demand (at least in my job market) for XP is minimal. Daniel Lawrence Go with 2000 exams... Microsoft stated that the interchanging of exams is no longer acceptable for MCSE. .Net/2003, or whatever it will end up as, are not out yet. When completing the W2K MCSE, you can upgrade to .Net/2003 or whatever.
Most companies are using win2k server nowaday, and i think it will last about 2 more years. So, boss will only consider MCSE 2000 this couple of years!!! Moreover, it's suitable time to get MCSE 2000, then upgrade it to 2003 with only 2 upgrading exam. HongKongBoy added: March 2003 |
